Julie Klopp - Inquiry
Are you feeling anxious, stressed or suffer from phobias or other fears?
So often what we perceive as dangerous is not in our external world but in our internal perceptions - our thoughts and feelings.
Introduction to the Anxiety Inquiry
Sunday, May 21, 2017 - 1:30-4:00 pm at OneCircle Center
$20 cash or check at the door - no RSVP required, just come!
In this workshop you will learn to use the Anxiety Inquiry to compassionately explore the perceptions that cause you to view particular experiences or things in your environment as more dangerous than they really are (for example: getting your blood drawn, getting on a plane, hearing certain noises, seeing a mouse or speaking in public). When these thoughts and feelings are seen and felt directly, without a story, you find that they don't seem as scary and you are able to move more easily and comfortably throughout your world. This inquiry does not take away your ability to respond to actual danger. You can still avoid a poisonous insect or get out of the way of an oncoming car; and without an overlay of stories, you can respond more effectively and appropriately to any situation.
Join Julie Klopp for a brief talk about the Anxiety Inquiry, Q & A, along with a guided meditation and short demonstrations of facilitation so you can get an experiential feel for how to use the Anxiety Inquiry for yourself. No prior knowledge of the Living Inquiries is necessary.
The Anxiety Inquiry is one aspect of Scott Kiloby’s Living Inquiries, which also consists of the Unfindable Inquiry and the Compulsion Inquiry. Each of these inquiries helps you to get in touch with, explore and let go of the limiting stories and beliefs you have about yourself and the world in order to unravel their hold over you.
Julie did an Anxiety Inquiry on me on my spider phobia. She skillfully guided me through finding no threat anywhere. I went from an image of me as a little girl, bending down to touch a spider with my mom screaming at me not to touch it, feeling a fear reaction in my body, to the image of that little girl with her palm innocently open and the spider crawling around on it. It felt like perfect communion – no self, no spider, yet somehow friends enjoying the company of each other. Apparently that translated over to ants, too. This morning I saw an ant crawling on floor, and couldn’t kill it. I gently picked it up and put it outside. Thank you Julie! J.E. Rhode Island
Julie Klopp has been using the Living Inquiries since 2012 and has been a Certified Facilitator since 2013. She is the author of "Facilitating Yourself with Scott Kiloby's Living Inquiries" and "Let Go of Your Stories, Let Go of Your Stuff - Clear Out Your Clutter and Set Yourself Free with Self-Inquiry". Both are available on Amazon. She says: "It is difficult to neatly summarize the changes I have experienced since I began using the Living Inquiries because there have been so many. I would say that the biggest shift has been that however life is showing up is usually enough, just as it is. My experience of life feels lighter and I have a greatly increased ability to deal gracefully with whatever shows up. I love being able to share the life-changing possibilities of this freedom."
