The Boundless Voice
“To voice is to practice opening, with movement, to what wants to enter and live through the full exhalation. As amplified breath, vocalization involves the conscious, physical act of managing energy – a co-creating with Life. The question becomes: How can the body/voice meet the moment in full resonance? Is the energy as free as it can be? Is it exactly what wants to be? From this perspective, the voice is not a thing but rather, a capacity that surpasses boundaries and is not beholden to any single texture, color or mode. It's the boundless cascade of life itself breathing through you, in constant, intimate communion.” - Bisan Toron

Voice & Soul Workshops
Our voice is boundless and has the capacity to gather and reflect all of our dimensions. It has the power to bridge the chasm between what we feel inside and how we express ourselves. In re-imagining our relationship with our voice, we learn to maximize its freedom and our ability to resonate our note in the world. In this workshop, we will do vocal exercises and improvisational explorations, which will allow us to experience our ability to sound our inner life. All levels are welcome. This workshop is ideal for beginning and advanced singers seeking to use their voices more powerfully, and for anyone interested in deepening their relationship with voice and sound.
CANCELLED: "Voice Creatures", Sunday, January 31, 2016 at OneCircle.

“Bisan’s voice is a delight to the ear and heart. Her approach is not traditional. It is an experimental search for the right expression of inner landscape and yearning. Her work comes in the footsteps of giants such as Meredith Monk but her style is more personal and unpredictable yet rooted in a distant Middle Eastern heritage.” - Yuval Ron (Yuval Ron Ensemble)
